    UPDATE:

    Before reading and responding to this thread, I MIGHT be on the path to fixing this myself. I will update status if I am able to fix it on my own or not…

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    My site and my admin panel are down after I tried upgrading from 3.4.2 to 3.5.2
    I am using PHP version 5.3.3 and MySQL server version 5.1.69
    I first tried upgrading through the WordPress admin panel. As it started upgrading, the admin upgrade page reloaded as just a blank white page.
    I tried accessing the /wp-admin/ page again and only got a white page.
    I tried going to the blog home page (not the admin page) and again got a blank screen
    Oddly enough, if I go to the /wp-admin/upgrade.php page it says:
    “No Update Required
    Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!”
    But if I click the Continue button on that /wp-admin/upgrade.php then I get another blank screen.
    Before attempting the update, I had disabled all plugins and copied my wordpress files locally. I DON’T THINK I backed up my database though 🙁 I think I overwrote it!!!
    Once I realized the upgrade had failed and I could no longer access the front end nor the admin section of my WP blog, I then tried doing a manual update by:
    Via ftp, deleting old and then uploading new wp-admin and wp-includes folders, plus the loose files EXCEPT for wp-config.php file.
    Overwrote the twentyeleven and twentytwelve themes in the wp-content folder
    Overwrote akismet in the wp-content/plugins folder
    After uploading, I double checked my configure.php file and my .htaccess file and they both looked good.
    Still can not access neither the front end nor the admin panel of my wp blog.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    UPDATE:
    figured it out.
    Basically, I had an older theme that I needed to uninstall by ftp first, and then install the updated version of that theme via ftp.
    the older version of that theme was so incompatible that it wouldn’t even allow the WP admin panel to load.
    so if you are all having troubles with your upgrade, make copies of your themes and plugins folders on your local disk, and then upload the new themes and plugins folders, and see if that fixes it. Hope this helps.
