• Hi All
Our website is completely compromised (www.hamptontc.com) to the point that I cannot even access the dashboard through the hosting company (GoDaddy) and update any themes or plugins, basically stuck! The customer rep sent me here as she has had good experiences in the forum. Can someone point me in the right direction as to starting to get this resolved? I have limited experience with wordpress and would be grateful for any help.
    Michael

    Hello Michael,

So you are unable to access the site through the WordPress admin panel, correct? When you say you are unable to access the dashboard through the hosting company, do you mean cPanel?

Are you able to access the site through FTP?

Yes that’s correct I cannot access the site through WordPress admin panel and also through the cpanel. I haven’t tried TFP as am not familiar with the process. If you look at http://www.hamptontc.com, that’s all that comes up when I try and access.

Will read the posts as suggested.

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

    Michael,
How is it going? Any luck with the site? Has GoDaddy offered any more help?

Here is a short tutorial about accessing your WordPress install through FTP. Since you can’t access your WordPress admin, FTP is probably your best bet. However, you will still need some login info from GoDaddy if you don’t already have it.
I would try disabling your site plugins first to see if that fixes your issue.

    Good luck!

Many thank for the resource / tutorial, much appreciated and I’ll definitely have a look at the FTP option for future knowledge. GoDaddy have been helpful with information and pointing me in a direction but the site is still down.

Someone from the forum offered to get the site up for $65 an hour saying it would take 1-2 hours and asking for $65 upfront, so let’s see how that pans out?
