Site doesnot open up in external machine when wordpress is installed in VmWare

    Hi,

    I installed wordpress in WinXP VMWARE. I have completed all the installation without any issues and able to open my site in the vmware (http://localhost/wordpress).

    but when i try to open the site in another system by giving the ip address of the vmware/(also tried with ip address of the system where vmware is hosted), am getting page cannot be displayed.

    Please lemme know if i need to make any config change to wordpress or vmware network connection settings….

    First: Is the base url set in your database as localhost or the ip address? If it’s set as localhost, the outside computer will be redirected to check it’s own localhost, not the server at the ip.

    Second: If it is set to the ip, it might be a firewall/vmware issue.
