Support » Plugin: Chained Quiz » Site diagnostic error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 millisec

  • When running WP diagnostic I am getting this error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

I have isolated the error message to Chained quiz, which is great by the way. The quizzes are still working!

We are running the latest version of WP 5.6, PHP 7.4 and Quizzes plugin v1.2.3

Do you have any idea how to solve this?

We can’t reproduce the issue but did some adjustments. Please try the new version and let me know.

Thank you for your quick response and update. I have just updated to v1.2.3.1 and tested again, only Chained quiz activated and default template. Unfortunately still the same error message.

Because if this error I am now also getting successive errors. Yoast SEO plugin checks for instance if your website can be found for indexing. This now triggers error message as well.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce this issue and have no more ideas what could be causing it.

How do you run this diagnostics? If it’s a plugin, please provide the exact name.

It is the WP own site diagnostic widget.

Perhaps it is something specific in our hosting setup. Although hosting company have updated all related software to the latest Curl and tested functionality on server level and all was well.

In most cases this is not a real problem, it’s a false positive. Everything works fine but the site health check reports an error. You can eventually solve it by installing this plugin:

Could be a false positive. The successive CURL errors from Yoast SEO plugin are gone btw since your release 1.2.3.2.
Installed the plugin you suggested, forgot to activated it, but error is gone. Thx a million for all your work and patches.
    Cheers Paul
