# Site Design

 * Hello,
    I’m pretty new to this whole blog thing, but would anybody be able to
   assist me in designing one? [http://www.chisport.com/blogs](http://www.chisport.com/blogs)
   that is the link. I just created it a little while ago and I’m really confused
   in regards to fixing it up, as far adding a navigation bar on the left, placing
   a banner on the page and stuff like that, from the color to the font size. Can
   anybody assist me?

 * What you need to do is start messing around with the wp-layout.css file. That
   is the file which controls the look of the site.
    Make a backup first- then just
   start changing things around. If you aren’t too familiar with CSS check out some
   tutorials like at the [http://www.w3schools.com](http://www.w3schools.com) If
   you have dreamweaver or something like it with a CSS editor built in it can make
   things a little easier to see how they are laid out. Once you get more familiar
   with CSS you will get some ideas and start obsessively tweaking it like me!

   to open it up with?

 * If you use windows, the built in unzipper should do it – just double-click the
   file.

   posted this above. Many people have found those pages useful as a start to understanding
   and changing their wp blog.
