[resolved] Site crashed after installing W3 Total Cache (5 posts)

I have just installed W3 Total Cache via ftp (problems with installing from Dashboard) and now all I get is:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_cache_init() in /var/www/kysthospitalet.dk/public_html/bagsiden/wp-includes/load.php on line 409

I have removed the plugin via ftp, but it seems to make no difference.

Somebody advised me to rename the remaining plugins via ftp - but I am afraid of making more problems...

Any idea on what to do?

Clear cache and cookies and try again to access your site. Use different browsers, devices/PC, and even network.

If nothing helps, rename the plugins folder by adding -old or something like that.

Don't worry, your site and its contents are stored in your database.

Backup your site so that you can restore if something goes wrong.

I was sp stressed out and ended up paying someone to fix it for me :-) But the next time I will fight it myself :-)
