# Site completely down after editing functions.php

 * Hi,
 * I edited the functions.php as discussed in a number of articles to add a sidebar
   to my theme.
 * There must have been an error in the code because once I clicked update, my whole
   site went down including the administration console so I can’t correct the problem.
 * Can you please help? My site is [http://nailthataccent.com](http://nailthataccent.com)
 * The theme is appliance.

 * Repair it using your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel.
   You can either fix the error, replace the damaged file with your backup copy,
   or replace the file with a fresh copy.
