• I cloned a site today and am having difficulty with the cloned version located at platformgp.com. All of the content was moved as intended. However, I’m experiencing the following issues:

    1) Page and Post content does not appear in the editing window. All content is active on the site, but it not avaialble for editing. Debut with Chrome shows the following types of errors (as an example) on the editing page:

http://www.platformgp.com/www.platformgp.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wpeditimage/plugin.min.js?wp-mce-4107-20150505 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    2) I cannot connect to Jetpack through the admin panel. The error is as follows:

Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: siteurl_malformed
    Try connecting again.
Error Details: The required “siteurl” parameter is malformed.

Any help that the community can offer on these two issues is much appreciated.

  • Something has gone wrong with the URL when you transfered. Look at this form your error message:

    http://www.platformgp.com/www.platformgp.com/

I’ll bet that second part isn’t meant to be there.

You could either change the URL or scrap that and re-clone it again making sure that you set the URL correctly.

Very strange. All of the resources the editor is attempting to access have the double-URL. Can you think of any reason that would be the case and whether it is possible to correct it without re-cloning?

    Thanks.

When you cloned the old site, I’ll guess that there was a setting somewhere to change the URL for the new site? If so, either that was entered wrong, or the cloneing process just broke it.

I do know of this tool that does a good search-and-replace in the database, but there’s also a few plugins that can do the same.
