# Site access problems

 * Hi,
 * My site has been running for a few weeks now and today I can’t get in. I can 
   login, see the site but it won’t let me do anything else at all. Ie edit, create
   new post etc. I can’t access anywhere at all – It just freezes on a blank page.
 * Can anyone help?

 * Did you add any plugin lately that would have caused the problem.
 * If so deactivate the plugin using ftp by renaming the plugin

 * Nothing new other than JP gallery which isn’t even in use at the moment. Trouble
   is I can’t even get in to remove anything that might be causing this as I can’t
   get passed the blank page. The site is also in maintenance mode…

 * if your site is in maintenance mode then there is hidden file .maintenance that
   needs to be deleted

 * Hi there
 * I’m fairly new to word-press and recently changed packages with hosting provider.
   They advised me to make a back up of all my site files which I did. I then re
   uploaded the files to new package and have lost my site. I can see the files 
   but it gave me a fresh install. What should I do? Any help greatly appreciated.

 * I’ve just spoken with the host ‘technical dept’ they are going to try and retrieve
   the old database if they can and get back to me. it seems that I have connected
   to an empty database.

   the ftp for the hidden .maintenance file, but am not seeing it (perhaps because
   it is hidden??). Where should I be looking? Thx
