Hello I’ve got problems with these CDN from Jetpack.
I´m using Jetpack since a long time. If I turn the Site Accelerator on, then it doesn’t display my images. If I wanna see the images with the image-address in browser only like https://i1.wp.com/www.boombatzeentertainment.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/evfu7inch.jpg?w=636&h=477&ssl=1 the I got this message „We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched“

I even used Jetpack 6.9 -> same problem
deactivated all other plugins (with clearing browser & site-caches) -> same problem

Is there a problem with these https://i1.wp.com/ Server?

What is the problem? I even got this same problem with a different site 🙁

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Just the data from WP System health:

    Betriebssystem Linux dd31012 4.4.0-142-generic #168-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jan 16 21:00:45 UTC 2019 x86_64
    Server Software Apache
    PHP Version 7.2.13-nmm1
    MySQL Server 5.7.21-nmm1-log
    Memory Limit 512 MB

    Hi @boombatze,

I notice Site Accelerator is currently disabled but some of the images are still broken. The Split 7″ image on this page is an example:

    https://www.boombatzeentertainment.de/2019/01/30/15-jahre-eyeless-view-vs-from-us-split-7-verlosung/

Clicking on the broken link loads the image directly though. The link is referencing https://www.boombatzeentertainment.de but the image itself is references http://records.boombatze.de — so it looks like https:// is causing the problem.

I recommend fixing that first, then try re-enabling Site Accelerator. If the same problem still occurs afterwards, please leave that enabled and contact us so we can troubleshoot further.

    Hi @gemmaevans,

many thanks for helping me out. Yes I disabled the accelerator and tried a couple of things. But still no solution for this.
Like you recommend I changed the address of this http-image & now the accelerator is active again. But all images are still broken when accelerator is active.

Here maybe it helps the debugging information from health check plugin:

You seem to have some sort of hotlink or download protection enabled, this is generally designed to keep images from being directly downloaded or embedded on other sites, but it also keeps CDNs like ours from downloading the original images.

This is not something built-in WordPress or Jetpack, but it’s a common setting in many hosting account control panels and some other plugins as well.

Where can you see this? I didn’t change anything like this or other general things. I’m using automatic plugin updates from jetpack. But if I’m deactivating all the other plugins, still the same problem.

    Hi @boombatze,

I’m not sure where @macmanx saw that but if the issue occurs after deactivating plugins, it could be due to a setting in your hosting control panel.

I’ve also spotted something in the “WordPress Constants” debugging information:

    WP_HOME: Undefined
    WP_SITEURL: Undefined

A site URL should be listed for each of those fields so please go to WP Admin > Settings > General and ensure these two values are correct. If the information isn’t editable there, it may be configured in your wp-config.php file (which I believe overrides it). You’ll want keep the use of http:// and https:// consistent.

Once you’ve done so, please disconnect and reconnect Jetpack so those URLs are updated and let’s go from there.

    Hi @gemmaevans

there are no problems to change the values of the general settings and they are correctly I think. And there is nothing like this in the wp-config file.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @boombatz,

Thanks for checking that. I’ve visited the site again today — images I previously couldn’t see on the page above are now loading while Site Accelerator is enabled. Can you confirm whether you are still having issues on your end?

    Thread Starter boombatze

    (@boombatze)

    Hey @gemmaevans,

really? You could see the images? Now in this moment I still can´t see the images while Site Accelerator is enabled 🙁

What happens if you clear the browser cache? Are you able to see the images?

You could also try using a different browser temporarily or an incognito window tab. Let me know.

    (@boombatze)

    Hey @lizkarkoski

same issues after clearing browser & site cache. Ordinary I´m using Safari, but I tried Firefox in private modus. Same issue …

    Any ideas?

    Hi @boombatze,

Thanks for giving that a try. Just circling back on plugins — can you disable WP Super Cache? I know you mentioned disabling all plugins at the start but I’d like to see whether that makes any difference now, as the images are loading on my end and have the image CDNs URLs (they previously weren’t).

It would also be worth checking whether there is any server level cache running.

    Thread Starter boombatze

    (@boombatze)

    Hi @gemmaevans,

now WP Super Cache is deactivated but this helps neither 🙁

It would also be worth checking whether there is any server level cache running.

Should I ask my provider? Don’t know how to do this. By the way I have the same issue with this site https://7zoller.de, but NOT here https://boombatze.media & NOT here https://www.thomaskornack.com/wp/

Could it maybe a problem the .de ending?

    Plugin Support lizkarkoski

    (@lizkarkoski)

Please go ahead and ask about any server-level cache that could potentially be cleared. Let us know once that’s been done and we can check those image CDN URLs again.

    (@boombatze)

    Hey @lizkarkoski @gemmaevans

I just asked my provider, they say, they don’t have any link protection and even no caching …

Yesterday I even installed a testing installation on a subdomain http://test.boombatze.de with only jetpack as plugin. There were no problems with the images 🙁
