My site isn’t massively slower but there is a definate difference since upgrading to WP 3.0

I’m running a single install with the latest Buddypress. 2.9.2 was a bit smoother and a little snappier.

I upgraded automatically. Can this leave any debris behind that might slow things down? Perhaps some plugins haven’t been optimised yet.

  • Some plugins aren’t compatible at all, so I think it would be reasonable to assume that a large number haven’t been optimised yet. It might be worth switching them in and out to see if you notice any performance differences. You might also want to look at increasing the available memory.

I’ve tried running the site with just Buddypress installed and its still the same – a tad slower, so it isn’t a plugin problem.

I’ve optimised tables too, no joy.

Will increasing the available memory have an effect do you think?

It’s a long shot but it might help.
