  • Resolved Philcomputing

I have tried to install Site Kit on a WordPress instance hosted by Sitegrpund. Since I already have Site Kit running on Siteground without problems, it doesn’t seem to be due to the listing.

I have already searched forum for a solution. While there are a number of questions about this very problem, the answers did not help me to solve the problem.

I have tried the following steps unsuccessfully:

    * Reset Site Kit
    * Temporarily deactivate any caching plugins you might have active
    * Install Site Kit in a new incognito window

What else could be the reason?

thank you for your patience help.

SiteGround searched’s database and files for any entries that could cause the redirection problem but found none:

    healthu4@esm21 [~/public_html/]# wp db search ""
    healthu4@esm21 [~/public_html/]#
    healthu4@esm21 [~/public_html/]# grep "" * -Rl
    healthu4@esm21 [~/public_html/]#

Unfortunately, there is currently neither an error log nor an entry in the database that provides information about the 404 error.

I’m at my wit’s end. Regards, Phil

@philcomputing really appreciate you sharing this info and I understand the feeling. I’m going to check with the team about your case, but I’m thinking it might have something to do with this issue we’re working on. Not completely sure, but at some point your site may have been in a subdirectory “wordpress” and Site Kit could be retaining this old setup. I’ll follow up on this topic with any updates.

@philcomputing I just want to provide a quick update that we’re prioritizing the fix mentioned above for the next release. It may be the reason why you’re experiencing the issue, so we’ll follow up with you when it is available to ensure you can proceed with setup. Thanks so much for your patience. All the best.

@philcomputing we released the fix in version 1.5.0. Could you do the following:

    1) Update the plugin to the latest version 1.5.0
    2) Reset Site Kit
    3) Proceed with the setup process

Let us know if you are successfully connected.

If you continue to experience an issue, please provide your Site Health info anew (we’ve added a new section for Site Kit specifically that will help us troubleshoot further).

@philcomputing have you been able to update to the latest version?

@philcomputing since we have not heard from you, I am marking your support topic as resolved. If you should need further help, please open a new topic.
