Single product shortcode doesn't work

When I put the following shortcode into a page on my wordpress site, all Prestashop functions stop working.
[ps_product_list id_product=54 n=1 p=1 tpl=product-list.tpl]
There was an earlier support request exactly like this that is marked resolved but it does not specify what the conflict in the functions.php file is.
Could you help me determine why this shortcode does not work properly?

(p.s. the id_category shortcode works just fine, just not the single product one)
