out of curiosity, does your post type slug have capital letters at all? or perhaps the file name? I think those need to match, and they should be lowercase

Post type slug is just “quote”. What needs to match? The file name and slug?

    Thanks for responding!

if the slug is “quote”, then the file would need to be “single-quote.php”. If it is, and it’s still not getting picked up, then I’m not sure what’s going on offhand, but am not giving up on you yet, I’d just need more info.

Yes, the file is single-quote.php. It has been the same for months and just stopped working this week. We performed all of the plugin updates on Sucuri’s list as well as a major theme update for Avada. I thought we tested everything along the way but missed this template as it’s automatically generated by a form and not accessible by site navigation.

Bottom line is that I’m not sure where it might have stopped working in the midst of updates.

    Thanks again for your help!

Since it sounds like it’s still an issue, any issue with letting me have a peak at things?

Not at all. What’s the best way to go about sharing access?

From the best I can tell, there’s some sort of PHP error going on, because when I view a single quote, the view-source doesn’t render everything it should based on what I see in the theme files. It stops short at some point.

I’d turn on WP_DEBUG https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress#WP_DEBUG and go from there. It may be chosing the right one but not appearing to based on this.
