I’ve read through the forum and codex, but can’t seem to get a “page” template to work for my Single Event pages.

I’m using the Executive Pro theme from Studio Press and I’m not sure I’ve created the single-event.php page correctly. I copied the page.php file from the Genesis framework (there isn’t one in the child theme) and named it single-event.php and put it in my child theme folder.

Then I changed “Display events as” in Settings -> Pages -> Event Pages back to “Posts” and saved it. “Pages” wasn’t working so I assumed it doesn’t work with my theme as noted on the Settings page.

    Thank you!

Thanks for replying angelo. It looks like the last 2 comments in the thread are referring to the same problem I’m having, which is that the Single Event page is not displaying using a Page template (instead of Post) even after following the plugin directions, i.e. when I created a “single-event.php” template (because just changing the setting to “Page” didnt’ work), my Single Event page still displays with a post template.

Can you test by adding a unique phrase to the very top of the single-event.php, then setting Display events as to Posts under Events > Settings > Event Pages?

Even if you don’t see the events output, do you see the unique phrase?

Thank you caimin_nwl! It IS in fact using the Single Event page.

Now I need to learn how to remove the meta data. I’m using a Genesis theme so the only thing this page does is call one function. I’ll do some more research and really wish I had thought of testing it with a phrase earlier.

    Thanks again!
