That obvious eh! Was driving me nuts…
Thanks @carike – I’m moving away from page-builders and into hand-coding, letting customers use Gutenberg – I’m still very new to it! Appreciate the help.
Glad it worked 🙂
I can’t take the credit though, we have been discussing the issue in the forums support area on Slack (others have had the same difficulty).
Please mark topics as resolved if it contains an answer that worked in any of the posts.
This helps other users find answers to their questions faster.
Does anyone else have a problem centering the button since 5.4?
I can find the center function for the button, but it doesn’t actually work. It centers the button in the editor, but not in the actual post.
THANK YOU for posting the answer. This was also driving me nuts!
What an odd UI fail to slip through the cracks.

@whistlerdan – Also worth knowing (I’ve only used Gutenberg for a few days) – that there’s a ‘breadcrumb’ at the very bottom of the edit window. You can use this to select ‘containers’ – or any level of widget… and it makes selecting the right bit of the button widget much easier – it’s made life so much easier since I spotted this.
@digitalsmithy Ahh that’s another great tip. That’s handy when you have grouped elements. I wonder why it’s hidden so small at the bottom.
