I am having a similar issue with times being out of whack. Since updating the plugin, many of the times on my public calendar are displaying incorrectly. This is the calendar that is referenced on the website:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=irmn4vfaoddsbgvs7d4pgandf0%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York
And here’s how it’s displaying now:
http://trinitythomasville.com/calendar/events/
Take Nov. 15 for example. Correct times for the events on this day are:
Worship: 10-11:30 am
Ministry of the Month: 11:30-12:30 pm
Vestry Meeting: 12-2:30 pm
However, they are showing up:
Ministry of the Month: 6:30-7:30 am (5 hours earlier)
Vestry Meeting: 7-9:30 am (5 hours earlier)
Worship: 10-11:30 am (correct)
I’ve tried using both settings for time values and neither works correctly.
I really need to get this sorted quickly. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

We are hearing quite a bit about timezone issues so it is something we will be looking into.
Out of curiosity is the time on your events off by the sane as your UTC adjustment for your timezone?
Thank you for your reply. I am on the east coast of the U.S., so yes, I believe the difference for the incorrect events is the same as the UTC adjustment (5 hours).
I am also on the east coast and see the same time difference (and another site i use this plugin on has the same issue, if you need a third example to look at…)
Does it work if you change the timezone setting on that specific calendar to use the America/New York timezone (or whatever it is) rather than inheriting the settings from the main options or event source?
yes, i was able to force it for the main page display on the dancespirit website by using advanced > time zone > custom > New York on that individual calendar. i’m hoping to avoid doing that over and over.
i also noticed the alt tags aren’t popping up properly on one of my widget driven grid calendars on another site.
My calendar *is* set to America/New York timezone and it still doesn’t display correctly. In fact, on my web page, the incorrect time is 5 hours *ahead* of the correct time, but when you click the More Details from Simple Calendar, the time is incorrect by 5 hours *ahead* of the correct time!
Not all of my calendar items are incorrect, but the ones that are seem to follow this pattern (at least the ones I’ve looked closely at).
Hi I meant in the settings here:

Is that what you tried @theothermelanie?
@emilysparkle Yes it is a bug that we are trying to narrow down so your response helps us a lot. We don’t want you to have to do that for every calendar either 🙂
Thanks!
Yes, that’s where I changed the setting from Custom to Site Default. The setting doesn’t change the display, though: both Custom and Site Default give me the same incorrect times.
Ah dangit, ok thanks. I will let you know if I have something else for you to try out. Thanks for the update.
The widget is the one that’s giving me the issues with day and dates otherwise the time zones are fine (South Australia).
Not sure if this helps or not, but we experienced the same issue (also Eastern time), when I had the Simple Calendar timezone set to the default of “Events source default”. When I changed the setting to “Site default (America/New York)”, the times began to display correctly. This was the case for both the widget and the shortcode.
Thank you for the extra information. Still looking into some of the timezone issues.
This all should be fixed if you are running the latest (3.0.9).
I’ve upgraded to 3.0.9 but many of my times are still wrong. You can view the website page here:

Christmas Eve service on December 24 starts at 9:00 pm.
It looks to me like all recurring events are displaying correctly. All others seem to still be off by 5 hours.
