The mail has been working fine with logs of outgoing emails, but on 20th August 2025 it stopped adding log entries, but the emails are still sent correctly.

Has anyone else seen this issue? or give me some suggestions of what may have happened?

  • Hi Keith!

Yes, same issue here! The other problem is that all emails under Email Logs are in Plain Text format, so I can see only HTML codes of all emails (including emails sent long time ago) on the right side, and not the actual formatted emails.

Now I tried to make it a Default connection (I think this option wasn’t available before) but it still doesn’t log new emails!

    Thank you for your feedback..

Yes I also see emails in the logs in Plain Text Format..

I tried various things to understand the problem, and I decided to deactivate the plugin, but not delete it, then reactivate it. I did a test and it worked. I do not know why it work, but it did..

I suggest you try the same thing and see if yours starts working again?

    Keith..

Thank you for your suggestion, it worked for me too, it logged my Test Email, but all old emails are still in HTML code format.

Hey Folks! This is an interesting find. We did make some changes in a release on the 18th that affected logging (specifically, some changes that prevented emails that were still pending from appearing in the logs as sent), and it looks like those changes have broken on existing installs.

This workaround of deactive/reactivate is easy enough, but I am also going to escalate to our team to see if there’s a way to fix the problem for users who don’t happen to swing by the support forums to see the fix.

The best news with this issue is that emails are still sending, so there’s no disruption for end users. But it’s annoying for admins who want to see those logs, if they are not there.

Thanks for flagging this, and I’ll keep you (and the watching world) posted on any fix from our end.

Thank you for the further feedback Ben..

Other points to note are that all emails logged are only in plain text, hence you see all the tags..

The additional feature of a switch to enable default connection usage is off when loaded and it assumes the admin person knows about this extra feature. I suggest by default this should be switched on when plugin is activated.

    Hello,

Good news! We’ve released version 2.2.1, which addresses the issues you reported:

    • missing log entries
    • logs showing as plain text only
    • disabled default connection

Kindly update your Solid Mail plugin to the latest version and let us know if everything is working correctly on your end.

Thank you again for flagging these to us and for helping us improve Solid Mail!

I installed the new version 2.2.1 this morning which almost fixed the problems.

Under this version all existing HTML formatted log files were correct, BUT any new HTML emails sent are still shown in plain text only.

    Hello Keith,

Thanks for letting us know you are seeing that. We will dig in and get to the bottom of it!
