Support » Plugin: Page Builder by SiteOrigin » Simply Awesome!

  • I first encountered Site Origin Page Builder as part of a template I had purchased; once I understood it I realized what a great tool it is for (what else?) building pages.
I’ve been told that it doesn’t work with some templates, but I have yet to find one.
As to what it does, it builds pages, sort of like a brick wall, each brick being a widget (or a blank space), and the widgets make up the best part, because they can contain almost anything, from images, to styled text, animated slides, carousels, Google Maps, the list goes on…
AND, it’s responsive too! Going left to right, top to bottom, automatically rearranges the bricks in a flash, and resizes them without settings (or you can change the settings). The bricks them selves have a lot of options with backgrounds, borders, margins & colors, and they’re independent of your content so that leaves you free to style the content any way you want. And it does all this in a graphic interface, but you can always choose to change the code by clicking on a tab.
It’s awesome! makes building pages fast, and you can build and save page designs as templates of your own, based on the master theme, or not!…
And perfectly matched is the SiteOrigin CSS plugin, which is a WYSIWYG CSS editor, very, very robust tool that will preview any changes you make until you save it. It has a three page panel that has tons of common CSS settings to change, and it displays the code in a small window on the bottom that you can manually change, all the while previewing the changes. When you’re satisfied, hit save and it’s done; this could NOT be any easier, even if you prefer hand-coding because of the previews.
I’m one who learned this trade self-taught, and before SiteOrigin products I had a fair amount of coding knowledge, but using this is really very easy, plus, because I can see the codes being changed, I actually learn something every time I use it, so it’s great for beginners too!
BOTH products are well thought out and easy to use, doesn’t take too much time to figure out because at their core they present as almost all WYSIWYG. Both of these are must-have products, and I start each project with these as part of my arsenal.
    Well done!…
