[resolved] Simpleviewer Gallery problem (6 posts)

    when I insert a simpleviewer gallery into a page or post, it displays correctly on that page or post.

    However, on the posts page it displays the following text:

    This SimpleViewer gallery requires Macromedia Flash. Please open this post in your browser or get Macromedia Flash here. This is a WPSimpleViewerGallery var flashvars = {}; flashvars.preloaderColor = “0xffffff”; flashvars.xmlDataPath = “http://www.flex40.net/wp-content/photos/cars/gallery.xml?for=fc_id_274″; var params = {}; params.bgcolor = “#545454″; params.allowscriptaccess = “samedomain”; params.wmode = “opaque”; var attributes = {}; swfobject.embedSWF(“http://www.flex40.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-simpleviewer/viewer.swf”, “fc_id_274″, “100%”, “400″, “8″, “http://www.flex40.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-simpleviewer/js/swfobject/expressInstall.swf”, flashvars, params, attributes);

    I'm guessing it's a simple configuration fix - has someone been there before ??

    By default, WordPress does not execute Flash in posts. Try this plugin instead:

    Hi macmanx - thanks for the reply.

    I'm using the plugin you mentioned to generate the simpleviewer galleries and they display correctly on pages and in their own post e.g. http://www.flex40.net/?p=386 . It's just that they display the code on the posts page. e.g. http://www.flex40.net/?page_id=71

    Is it possible to execute Flash in the posts page ?

    They should be. I think that's a problem with the plugin. It looks like it can't handle a custom posts page (as opposed to a standard home page).

    It is possible that another plugin is conflicting. Deactivate all other plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that doesn't work, try using the original SimpleViewer with one of these plugins:

    Thanks macmanx - back to the drawing board with a fresh installation. Needed a refresh anyway.

    Happy to take this as resolved.
