I’m accustomed to setting the inventory numbers for our products (something that happens frequently) using the “quick edit” on the products page. With the Square plugin activated, it’s way more complicated and time consuming.

I have the product sync set to WooCommerce, so I should be able to set the inventory numbers in WooCommerce as usual, but it won’t let me do that.

It forces me to open the product page, then sync the product with Square before I can change the inventory number. This takes a lot longer and what used to be a quick task is now a pretty time-consuming one.

Is there some setting I can use where WooCommerce is the master and I can update the stock as usual wihout having to go though the extra steps to sync each product separately before it will let me update the stock?

  • Hi @xnau

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you’re having a hard-time updating the Stock Quantity of your products since you are being asked to sync the product first to Square prior to editing it, correct?

Kindly be informed that this is the default behavior. Regardless of your Sync Settings, inventory is pulled from Square every hour to account for POS sales. Any inventory editing needs to happen at Square. So even with WooCommerce as SOR, any change to the product name/price/image/category will sync into Square, but Square will always have the final say when it comes to stock.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the explanation.

I think we’ll try not keeping inventory in sync with Square, we don’t need it to work that way.

    Hi @xnau

    You are most welcome here.

If you don’t need to sync your products with Square, you can disable it by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Square > Sync settings > Do not sync product data.

    Hope this helps!
