simple hit counter not working

    I have activated the plugin ‘simplehitcounter_hit’. But there is no indication of no. of hits any where on the startup screen. I am using bombax theme & version 3.0.4 of wordpress.This plugin doesn’t appear in the widgets list either. Pl help
