• I can’t believe how hard it is to find a simple taxonomy-based Related Posts plugin that actually works reliably and simply.

This one does exactly that and the results are just what we’re looking for.

I would also be willing to go for a Pro version if it had additional features like exclusions and more styles, etc.

    Thanks for the review 🙂

I really like where the plugin is now. I focus on stability and avoiding feature bloat. There are some areas that could be improved upon. I’m looking into having a better template for the thumbnails format.

What do you mean by exclusions?

Essentially the ability to exclude the posts appearing for very specific pages, taxonomy, etc. There are work-arounds to pull that off.

FWIW, I did QA for 20 years so when I mention things people think I hate a product. Not at all true. Just always want the best for every product. So, that said, my only real issue is that so much of the product requires me to do the coding (which like many I’m not all that comfortable doing).

I also would be curious if you’d be game to chat about our unique needs to possibly create an extension? We’re do movies and Related isn’t quite right. For example, if you’re reading a review about a movie starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, you may be a huge Streep fan, but dislike Redford. Seeing the poss for both doesn’t tell you which one to read and you’re not happy if you click a post that’s there just for Redford. We need to find a way to tell a Related Post plugin to allow us to ID certain phrases (maybe in the editor during editing) and have those appear a bit differently — like:

    Related Posts:

    Related to Meryl Streep
    [IMG] Movie Name

    Related to Robert Redford
    [IMG] Movie Name
    [IMG] Another Movie

    Related by Keyword
[IMG] (a bunch more films here).

I’d be game to pay for something like this.
