 * How is this not a block in gutenberg ?
 * Take the columns block, remove the columns, and gives us the outer container.
 * A simple container block that we can use to add content to or nest other containers
in. Add class and ideally also ID’s.
 * It’s already done with the columns block. Just give us an option that we don’t
have to hack to make work.
 * I have umpft number of social embeds, half of which I’ve never even heard of,
yet I don’t have the most basic of elements in page building.
 * And make the damn thing easier to use. Add a faded border around those columns
and blocks. Half the time I’m randomly clicking on the page to select a block
or trying to remember which block is which from the block list.

 * It’s in the Gutenberg plugin, still being tested. It’s called Group.

 * I was unclear … meant in WordPress, not in the Gutenberg plugin.
 * Look, I get that this would probably be useless to regular users, just people
writing their blogs … but it would be a godsend for anyone developing themes
with inconsistent layouts that can’t be hardcoded in.

 * What I meant was that it’s already developed, and in the plugin. Everything gets
tested in the plugin before getting released in core WordPress. So it’s coming,
   but slowly.
Believe me, I understand how slow it is. I asked the team about
it about a month after the coding started (more than 2 years ago).

 * Well, that’s good to know. Already suspected that much, was just hoping it would
make it to the next update. But as far as I can tell, no chance of that.
 * For the past half a year or more now WP has been very frustrating to work with
   for this one reason.

 * You can always use the Classic Editor plugin.

 * Technically, I could. Practically, I’m a bit uneasy about how much longer that
   block will be around.
 * What if next year it gets phased out ? What happens then ? Some of the websites
I build are not exactly managed. In an ideal world someone would be managing
each and every website. In the real world, there are some types of websites that
simply don’t get that much attention. So they need to be stable for 1-2, even
   3 years from now.
 * But yeah, right now that’s what I’ve been doing since I have no other alternative.
