Support » Plugin: authLdap » simple and best

  • ldap is obtuse. ldap plugins can be even more so. of all the ldap plugins for WP this is the only one i could get to work. relatively simple to use. documentation could be a little clearer, but i figured it out.

there is a local u:p failover to wp DB, which is VERY nice. but for my purposes I wish it was a configurable option to enable/disable. i don’t want a broken ldap auth to failover to local space silently. i’d rather the auth break all together so that i can fix it the right way.

    Thanks 🙂

What where your pitfalls in the documentation that could be improved? I’d love to get your feedback to make it easier!

It’s mostly the URI. Getting it just right took some trial and error. Every web app I use seems to have subtle differences in the format. For ex Jenkins. This is more a frustration with ldap, not the plugin.

I also wish I didn’t have to put the password in the URI in plain text. Having configurable fields that were not displayed in plain sight would be better.

Thanks for the feedback. The idea with a separate password field is good! Thanks! I’ll see what I can do!

And I might as well split the URI into separate parts. Might make it a bit easier or at least give some more documentation on how to set up the URI.

    Cheers
