Since uploading your plugin I have a large black & white smiley face at the bottom of every page of my site. Is this due to your plugin?

    My site is http://www.kerstenanderson.com

I just faced the same yesterday and to answer you question:
YES, the smiley image ist needed for the Jetpack Stats.

I tried to get rid of it, but nothing is written to the source code of the website.

Here is a link, that will explain you how to get rid of it. Just set the width and height to "0", overflow: hidden and positioning it to absolute, so you don't have the line at the bottom of the page.

    See the explanation here:

You can also hide the plugin by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and click on "Configure" in the Stats module. You will be able to hide the Smiley there.
