Support » Plugin: SpeakOut! Email Petitions » Signature list, the unconfirmed

    Hi,
I have a list of signatures, to my petition. Only 8 out of over 50 have confirmed their email addreses, so only these 8 were displayed.
I have since turned off email confirmation and now any new signatures get added to the list. I still have nearly 50 signatures in limbo – which i would like to add to the list however, i can add them manually, which would mess up the date added field, but also this seems a bit unethical.

Can i add these signatures to my list some other way (preferably with the right date they signed)?

    Regards Mike

Good question. I won’t implement anything to do that as in my mind it compromises the integrity of the plugin for an admin to be able to change the status of a signature that was signed on the basis of being confirmed.

However it isn’t hard to do in the database. Open PHPmyAdmin or the equivalent, jump into the database of your wordpress install. Run the following SQL UPDATE wp_dk_speakout_signatures SET is_confirmed= 1 making sure you have the table prefix correct (it might not be wp_). In PHPmyAdmin you can simulate running the query, I suggest you do that before actually running it so you are sure it has the desired effect.

I am deliberately being a little bit vague on how to do this as if those instructions aren’t enough for you, you shouldn’t be messing with the database directly.

Thanks! That worked a treat. From 8 signatures on my list i now have 100.

Your plugin works very well. As you say, it would not be a good idea to be able to mess about with peoples’s signatures, unless there was a very good reason to do so.

    Regards Mike
