    Hi.

I was so focused on the html code given for the signature addon not working (not showing in email body), that I didn’t notice that there’s now a very serious formatting issue.

Every time I copy and paste text in the Mail sections (1 and 2) of the form, it doesn’t stay. I’ve copied from Word, Contact Form 7’s visual tab and text tab and the same keeps happening.

At first it looks how it should, but after saving, all of the text jumbles together and looses all formatting. It sends this way as well. All you see is jumbled text in the email.

It didn’t use to be this way. It was better when one could input html codes in the form’s email section. Now it’s not accepting html codes. Now, the codes just show in the email instead of bold, color, etc.

Please tell me how this can be remedied?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

How did you figure out that my plugin is responsible of all this ?

As i told you before, if errors still happen when my plugin is disabled, then that’s not its fault.

If you re-read my post, I’m now questioning the formatting in the Mail section getting jumbled after saving.

When text is copied and pasted, it should stay that way but it’s not.

Is that not a plug-in issue if it’s not working in the plug-in?

Didn’t one of the upgrade version change the way to format the Mail section text by adding the wysiwyg?

Did something change after August 12th? Because that was the last time the formatting was working correctly.

My plugin as nothing to do with the mail settings management, it just add a signature field to CF7 form settings. If your form/mails settings are not saved, this should be a CF7 issue, but i won’t bet on that as it’s working fine. this also might be linked to with Contact Form DB if you use it. As always, disable my plugin, and you’ll see that you still cannot save your mail settings …

    About my plugin history :
    on August 05 : v2.4.1
    on August 26 : v2.5

    See changelog for details.

this is true, when a plugin is disabled, it’s like it was never installed in the first place. wordpress plugins don’t leave code hanging around like when you remove software from your windows computer.

you might have better luck with your issue if you post in the Contact Form 7 forum.

Following up. I was able to fix the formatting issue on my own.

No, I have not been using Contact Form DB. Something changed whenever you guys added the wysiwyg formatting option to the Mail section.

I have tested copying and pasting several ways and still have the same results:

The only way I have been able to get the formatting to stick is to format directly within the Mail section. I MUST use the wysiwyg options in order for the text to not jumble and stay as inputted.

Please take a look at this. I know something is different with how this is functioning. One should just easily be able to copy and paste and the formatting sticks.

    Thanks.

What are you calling the wysiwyg formatting option in the mail section ?

By default, there’s no such thing in CF7 : see capture

Mine doesn’t look like your capture. I’ll email it to you.

I don’t know where this stuff comes from, but this have nothing to do with this plugin for sure. Please try asking in the Contact Form 7 support forum.
