I can add that also [pdb_list] works only when I am logged in – I just noticed. I am new to wordpress in general – perhaps this has something to do with general privacy settings. Any ideas are welcome:)

It sounds like you are using page caching. You should disable page caching on all pages that have Participants Database shortcodes.

It’s a good practice to avoid page caching or any caching at all while developing a website, this is so you know any problems you have are not due to caching.

    Thank you:)!
How can I check that indeed caching is being used? (I don’t see any plugin specific to that role enabled in the project) Would you be able to suggest a best way of disabling it for individual pages?

You would in most cases have a caching plugin installed, so you would know. It is possible that your host has some kind of caching on the server, so you could ask them about that.

Could WP Engine be causing this? It is a non-plugin cashing solution after all, it seems. Did you maybe come across such case before, with WP Engine?

Well, WP Engine definitely uses caching, you may need to ask that pages with Participants Database shortcodes on your site not be cached.

I contacted WP Engine support and they excluded pages with PD shortcodes from caching. Now everything works fine:) Thank you so much for developing PD and for providing this very apt help. My best regards. ~Tomek
