Support » Fixing WordPress » Sidebar widgets not showing on mobile and tablet

  • This appears to be an issue since WordPress 4.8.3 was automatically installed.

    Part of our site is for members only, and these pages have some specific widgets in the sidebar that appear when members are logged in – a navigation menu for the sub-site and some that are specific to particular pages. The widgets’ visibility is limited to Registered Users and specific pages, using page slugs. The specific pages part is still working, but the Widgets are no longer appearing on mobile devices (tested on iPhone and iPad, unable to test with other platforms). If I change the visibility to All Users then they do appear – but of course are then visible before members log in and expose members only content.

    At the moment I’m working around by making some widgets visible to all, including guests, and turning off others which reduces the functionality of the pages on mobile devices.

    Has anyone else seen this? I haven’t found any similar posts over the last 15 screens.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Would you please test if one of the follow CSS code would do the trick? (apply it in the Quick CSS present in the Theme customization)

    • First attempt:

    @media (max-width: 767px) {
    aside.sidebar {
    display: block!important;
    }
    }

    • Second attempt:

    @media (max-width: 767px) {
    .sidebar {display:block !important; clear: both; }
    }
