I really like this plugin, but the category drop down menu in the sidebar widget appears to not work at all. Instead, all of my videos are displayed. At the moment that’s only two videos. I’m just testing the plugin out so far. I made two categories; the first of which currently has a video of a stand up comic, the second of which currently has a video of goats making noises. In my sidebar widget I have selected in the drop down menu the category with the stand up comic, but both videos are still displayed on my site.
In individual posts or pages I can specify which category to show through the shortcode, so there’s no problem there. But the widget of course has no option to enter shortcode.
Anyone know what’s up? I’m still a novice at all of this blogging and wordpressing and internetting, so speak moron to me if at all possible.
For the time being I’ve found a shortcut. Under VideoGall’s “additional settings” I’ve turned pagination on and set it to 1 Video Per Page. That’s a roundabout way to make my own site’s homepage look as I want it to.
However it limits my ability to show more than one video’s thumbnail at a time in the same category should I want to on a post or page. And there’s now a little numbered icon underneath the video in my post, which is just a nuisance really.
So I still need the first question answered if anyone can help. Even though my homepage looks fine for the time being, the plugin’s function is being limited by my duct taping of the problem.
