Sidebar widget

  • Hi there, I just downloaded a theme that comes “widget ready” however, I didn’t see a plugin or the sidebar widget under presentation.
So, I downloaded the sidebar widget plug-in. I activated it and now I do have the sidebar widget under presentation, i click it and this text appears on another page:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_deregister_script() in /mnt/w0806/d26/s11/b02c379a/www/artressdesign.com/journal/wp-content/plugins/sidebar widget/widgets.php on line 204

    Any ideas?

What specific version of wordpress are you running? In the more recent versions of the software, the widgets are now built in. You’re getting that error because the plugin is now not necessary.

Sounds like the theme you;ve downloaded is not widget-ready. You don’t mention which theme it is or link to it so I can’t tell you for sure. best bet would be to get with the theme designer to see if they have an updated version of the theme or add widget support yourself to it.

    Hope this helps

I have not the slightest clue what version I am using or how to find out. It is already combined in my hosting plan, all I have to do is click a button and name the directory to where I want it.

As for the template you can find it here http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/3-columns/1659/greenline-10/ it is suppose to be already widget ready but I do not see a widget tab under the presentation unless I activate the sidebar widget plugin. The message is what I get when I click on it.

And thank you for the reference link.
