    Hi there.
The problem: My sidebar has recently started to appear below the page content, (I have used the same Asteroid theme now for 4 years). This doesn’t show up in Firefox (which I generally use) but when I check my site in both Chrome and Edge, the sidebar appears at the bottom, on all posts and pages.
I have tried de-activating various plug-ins, to no avail. Other posts I have read on the subject appear to have this happen on one page only, but my problem is site-wide. Can anyone help, please? My email address is: info@learn-english-now.co.
    Thank you.

That usually happens when an odd character in a post or a styling directive confuses the browser into not rendering the sidebar in its usual place… the sidebar area would be the usual place of course.

I imagine it could also be something odd in the sidebar output causing the same fault.

You can sometimes track down the post (or sidebar widget) causing it by reducing the number of items in the sidebar or posts loop to avoid that problem on page one. You’ll reduce the number of posts in reading settings temporarily. In the case of a post causing it you’ll then most likely cause the problem to reappear as you move to the next or the next after that blog page.

Editing the post or title will usually fix things and you can then set the number of posts in reading back to what you had before.

In the case of a widget causing this you’ll move to widgets to the ‘inactive widget’ list temporarily until the problem goes away then move them back one at a time until the problem returns.

I think it might be the AdSense ads. When you refresh the site it appears correct until the Adsense ads pop in. Try to deactivate the plugin for your Adsense ads and see if it goes back to where it was. The theme uses a table cell on the top part of your cell. Then you have a number of iframes coming from your ads.

I think it the placement of the ads that causing your problem.

Thank you both, jnashhawkins and mrtom414 for your replies. I am going to work on both suggestions today, and will let you know the outcome. Wish me luck!

O.K. Results so far: I checked the width of the widgets I had in the sidebar, and I checked the width of the page. No change.
I cut the number of posts showing from 7 down to 5 – no change.

Mrtom414 – My ads are actually run by Google Auto Ads and so I have no plugin for them. However, I removed the meta data from the <head> of my page to see if that would stop it and bingo, page works fine. So now I have written to Google for help.
Thanks again to both for your input.
