extra text on main portfolio page only?

    Hello.. I would like to have a little intro text about me in a sidebar (or across the top) on my main (home) portfolio page, in addition to my portfolio thumbnails. If I add a sidebar it gets added to all of my individual posts and pages pages as well, which I don’t want.

    Is there a way around this?

    I removed the sidebar because I didn’t want it up there any longer, but would truly appreciate any suggestions as to how to have on on the home page only!
