Support » Themes and Templates » Sidebar OK in FF, messed up in IE – Look

  • IE sucks. Please can someone take a look at my site on both IE an FF.

In FF it displays fine but in IE, the right side of the sidebar is missing, some of it has been placed in the left column and some is just gone, like the my pic.

Have been playing with things for the last hour and nothing works.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I’m having problems with validating your website as the line defining your shortcut icon in your header.php is using non-ansi/UTF8 characters. The double quotes are the problem as their fancy ones instead of ANSI/UTF8 ones. Can you please replace them with standard double quotes?

    Reference: Link

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Ok, I just removed that line about the shortcut icon, I don’t have a favicon anyway. It didn’t do anything.

The error on the page says there is a problem with the syntax on line 147. Line 147 on what? There aren’t 147 lines in my sidebar.php. Help.

All those links under Favourite Articles on the sidebar are missing closing ‘a’ and ‘i’ tags. The only thing saving you there is the closing ‘li’ tags.

The line numbers are for your output for the entire site. Not for individual files.

I would start at the top of that list and work your way down the list. Fix those broken links above as a start and then see what comes next.

Hi again and thanks for your help.

The closing i tags were there. I added a before all closing b and i tags on the list (or should it come after these). As you can see it made no difference in IE unfortunately.

    Ok, got it sorted,

It was an old piece of adsense code from an ad I don’t use any more. It was the first line of the code.
