Thank you!
Few questions:
- What’s the code at the top of the page?
- Where do I put the sidebar code?
I just want it to show exactly like the home page:

Sorry, odd code is showing at top of all the pages:

I’ve moved the sidebar code to same place as index.php but it’s not showing showing like that on single.php.
What’s the code at the top of the page?
what code are you referring to?
do you mean the part with ‘child theme’?
you would obviously have this already, as you are using a child theme.
Where do I put the sidebar code?
do you mean the <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
?
that is explained in my post.
edit single.php; scroll down to <?php get_footer(); ?>
and add the new line before that.
btw:
my post is written to add the sidebar back into all static pages and single posts; if you don’t want the static page bit, because you want to use the ‘sidebar template’ that comes with the theme, then edit this line in my code suggestion:
if( is_single() || is_page() ) :
to:
if( is_single() ) :
alchymyth,
Figured out how to add a proper functions file to the child. 🙂
Thank you so much for your help!
