Sidebar not displayed correctly on page without posts

Hi,
I’m new to wordpress and have tried a few themes to get the feel for it. I came across a theme I like (Optimize Theme) but it will not display the sidebar to the right hand side – it pushes it down to the bottom of the page. However if there are ‘posts’ on a page then it will appear correctly… Very annoying.

Look at my site and see that home page sidebar not displayed on side but goes down to bottom of page. But the blog page is displayed correctly. I think it’s because I have set up the theme with a static homepage and a blog page for posts.
