  • Hi Rosssportsimports,

    Since when you started getting trouble with non working catalogue. Other thing what I have noticed is somehow website is not loading “catalogue-style-main-block.js” file. If you check in console for inspect. You will find list of error for failed to resource file.

    I believe the issue started on the 18th.

    I do not understand what you mean by checking “in console for inspect.”

    Hello rosssportsimports,

    Could you share the exact shortcode that you are using?
    Also, how have you added the products to your catalogue? Did you add products individually or whole categories?
    If you create a new catalogue and add just the cables category does it show the subcategories in the sidebar? Sometimes, a sub category name might contain a character that affects the functionality. If you create that new catalogue and you add in the categories one by one, you should be able to see which category contains the subcategory that is causing your issue.

    Hello,

    I am only using one shortcode:

    .upcp-label span span {
    display: none;
    }

    I added the products individually into their respective categories and sub-categories.

    I created a new catalogue and added categories into the new catalogue one at a time – the issue occurs when I add any of the categories “Body”, “Fuel System”, “Cables/Instruments”, “Electrical”, or “Engine.”

    I tried again, adding one category at a time, and was able to add all categories except for “1967.5” before the issue occurred. After this, I looked at the names of the subcategories for “1967.5” and found that non of the subcategories are listed.

    I tried one more time and the issue seems to occur at random.

    Hi ross,

    If it’s occurring at random, it’ll be hard to know the cause. As a test, could you please try removing the slash from the name “Cables/Instruments” and the period from the name “1967.5”, and also any characters that are not letters or numbers in any other category or sub-category names? Also, could you paste screenshots of both the Categories and Sub-Categories tabs in your plugin admin, so we can see what that looks like?

    Thank you

    I have removed all characters that were not letters or numbers.

    I don’t know how to paste a screenshot into the text box.

    Hi Ross,

    Do you have one or more categories or sub-categories that have a lot of products in them? Try adding all of the other categories except the one(s) with a lot of products in them to your catalog. Does it show the sub-categories? If so, what happens if you create a catalog with only one category and make the one with a lot of products in it? Does it show? Perhaps something is timing out on your server end before everything is dynamically loaded. If this is the case, would you be able to further break up your sub-categories and categories?

    To include images in a post, you can just use the “img” button in the editor here. And to host images, you can use a site like https://postimages.org/.

    There aren’t many products in this catalogue. However, some products have many photos.

    I just tried adding one category at a time, from most products to fewest products. 6 categories were added successfully. After that, when I tried adding the category “1500” or “Cables Instruments”, the subcategories were no longer showing.

    Here is a screenshot of the Categories tab in my plugin admin.

    I have decided to make catalogues for each category.

    Hi Ross,

    Thanks for letting us know. While that isn’t an ideal solution, it may help if you are experiencing issues such as the sub-categories not showing and if those issues are indeed related to too much data being loaded and something timing out. It may also work to further break up the top-level categories, so that each doesn’t have as many total products in it.
