Sidebar messes up in Firefox…

  • I’m using the Simpsons random quote generator, and it works fine in IE, but for some reason in Firefox the Yankee window below it moves up and into the Simpsons window. This makes the sidebar totally out of line with the rest of the template. You can see for yourself: http://www.fiahmad.com/wordpress/

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • It’s because the image is left-floating, so the next text flows alongside it. You need to set the clear attribute on the next item. You could add:

    <br clear=”all” /> after it, but to conform to strict XHTML it’s best to use

    clear: both;

    in your stylesheet. This could be set for #sidebar ul li

    The default (Kubrick) theme defines br.clear, so then you can use:

    <br class=”clear” />

    which is very useful for sorting out layout problems.

    Looks fine in FF1.5 to me. Am I missing something?

    Hey thanks guys, I used the code and it worked out great! 🙂
