   would I go about adding a skyscraper google adsense bar on the left side of my
   page while leaving my sidebar on the right and unaltered?

 * You don’t have left sidebar. If you want stuff on both sides of your blog – get
   a 3 column theme.

 * Is there a way to modify the theme I have to be a 3 column theme? I like the 
   look of it scheme wise.

 * There is always a way. But if you have to ask how to do it… then better don’t
   try. Sorry. Practically, it means re-designing the theme.
