Support » Theme: Custom Community » Sidebar disappears (after translation) settings of the bar below the header

  • I am trying to create a site for a music webzine, for which I need to use both French and English languages. I love the “general looks” of Custom Community and the fact that we can customize so many things, but I am facing one problem:

I am using a language switcher which seems to be working just fine (Bogo), except that when I’m on the site pages and switch to the other language, the sidebar (normally on the right) disappears. When I place the “language switcher” widget in the footer, everything stays where it should; but I don’t want to use the footer so much, I don’t find it very ‘user-friendly” as it is… down a page.
-> Is there any way I can keep on using Custom Community and a language switcher in my sidebar that would stay where it should in both languages?

(Links if needed, though the site is so young and still under tests that you could call it a newborn baby: French / English.)

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • hi rocknlied,

if you start a new site now i would recommend have a look at the new version 2.0 of the CC coming now:

    http://themekraft.com/blog/custom-community-2-0-current-status/

should be ready in a couple of weeks, the old CC will not be supported further..

buddypress areas, slider, footer options and some other things are not finished yet, but you can get a feeling of whats coming up.

and the stuff that is already there is better than current CC.

complete fresh HTML5 codebase, super lean CSS, all options with live preview in customizer and the theme is truly responsive.. 🙂

and you got twitter bootstrap 3.0 integrated 😉 awesome features too

    hope that helps, konrad
