I’ve had wordpress working on my server now for a couple weeks and everything seems okay.

What I can’t figure out, is why the sidebar.php in my template file looks NOTHING like the <div id=”sidebar”> code when I right click on my page and view source.

I have no idea where my widgets are going and I’m so used to being able to fully control my site that this is really frustrating.

Can anyone please tell me how there is a difference from the sidebar.php and the <div> that shows up when I view the page source of my site?

thanks to anyone who can reply.

  • I can see clearly the div id=sidebar thing in your source code…

Note. If you are using widgets, they override everythingg that is manually coded in your sidebar and only whatever widgets are in use will be displayed in your sidebar.

yes, you can see it in the code, but I can’t find that code in any of the php files, sidebar or index file. It seems to only appear when I click on view source while viewing the site.

Can I recreate the widgets via css/html and manually place them in the sidebar?

Thanks for your response by the way.
