 * Hi everyone,
    My sidebar is at the bottom of my posts. Can anyone tell me how
   to fix it? I am pretty ignorant of XHTML so please speak slowly 😉

 * I tried upgrading last week unsuccessfully. I just d-loaded the most recent version
   and uploaded successfully on Friday. Apologies for the lack of clarity.

 * If it has been a long time since you changed your system password, you should
   do that right away.

 * I just changed it this morning…
    You are speaking of my wp login and pass yes?
   Or do you mean my domain login and pass?

 * Like I said, it doesnt matter. What you need to be doing is deciding what to
   do with your current situation.
 * Your options are limited..
 * There are a good # of posts already here that address recently exploited installs.
   Depending on what you upgraded from, you may or may not have been a victim of
   the same exploit as someone else. Consequently, you pretty much have to do everything
   mentioned.
 * Everything means going through and auditing, specifically, files that cannot
   just be replaced…that would be any theme files that contain custom code, and
   more importantly, your wp-config.php
 * Depending on how attached you are to your plugins, that might also include your
   plugins.
 * By auditing, I dont mean random, I mean all, and I mean looking for **anything**
   that looks suspicious.. long strings of javascript that contain whats best described
   as just lots of letters, for instance.
 * Files that can be easily be replaced need to be completely deleted off your web
   space, and fresh ones uploaded in their place.
 * Additionally, you need to follow the instructions here:
 * [http://wordpressphilippines.org/blog/has-your-wordpress-been-hacked-recently/](http://wordpressphilippines.org/blog/has-your-wordpress-been-hacked-recently/)
 * Again, you’re covering all of your bases since there is no telling when your
   site was exploited or how many different exploits you’ve been a victim of.
 * If you cant do that, or dont want to do that, then you can shitcan the database,
   shitcan the files, and start fresh. Or you can pay someone with a lot of patience
   to do the work for you.
 * Your call..

 * Oh, and once you do decide what to do and have done it.. make sure that you change
   all of your passwords.

 * On a similarly hacked blog I have seen a lot of folders in the wp-content/uploads/
   folder where normally your images and other uploaded stuff sits.
    When organized
   by months you may have subfolders like 2007/01, 02, 03…12. However, if you have
   subfolders like 1, 2, 3, 24, 35 etc. check EVERYTHING, all those folders! On
   the site I’ve checked they were full of ad codes and files.
 * (just a tipp…)

 * thanks…I found this on my server…I Think this is still old blog stuff….
    [http://www.shadrastrickland.com/news/](http://www.shadrastrickland.com/news/)
 * this is where my old blog lived. I will delete this directory and see if things
   work out…
 * ’cause I really don’t wanna start from scratch.
 * thanks for all of the help

 * Forget that old stuff. READ before jumping around on all the places. The garbage
   code is in your brand new blog, not on that old greymatter install.

 * yes, what moshu said also applies.. you need to check all of your directories.
   I believe thats covered in the link I provided as well.
 * And you are going to have to read.

 * looks like it’s gonna be a long night. I can see what looks to be some random
   links to pharmacy blogs when I view the code through foxfire, but there’s nothing
   in the index file.
 * There’s no other way to accurately pinpoint which files are hacked without opening
   each one? Not that I’m whining, but I don’t wanna screw up something else accidentally,
   and I looked through the default files earlier and didn’t see anything….okay,
   maybe I’m whining a little.

 * As I previously stated, unless you are hellbent on finding the offending code,
   you go through ALL of the files you intend on keeping. That narrows things things
   considerably, dont you think?
 * WordPress 2.5.1 consists of over 400 files. Most of those, if, you read my post
   above, will be deleted and replaced fresh. You’re using the default theme, even
   that can be replaced.
 * And no, there isnt.

 * When I upgraded I did delete and replace the admin and includes folders. I don’t
   really know what else to replace or look for specifically so I will just delete
   the blog and start all over…*sigh.
 * Thanks for everyone’s help.
