I just want the criteria that is applied in the shortcode (terms=”63,64,65″) to be applied to the entirity of the Docs page including the category list. * That behavior in not a “great feature idea”. It should (must) be the normal behavior. Not doing it to me looks like a buggy design. * If I want to show only certains categories in a specific page to a specific user, I do not want to show all the links to others categories in the Docs page. However, the way you wanted to populate the categories in the sidebar from your previous page shortcode, is not possible actually. I’m explaining why this is not possible: * When you put any shortcode on your page in WordPress, that shortcode will be effective on that page only. **Category** page and **Single Docs** page template are different and there is no relation with that shortcode. I hope you understand. * By understanding your use case, I’m assuming, you can actually do this by using** Multiple Knowledgebase** feature where the sidebar category list will be based on your each KB.
