    The Main Blog Page

The side bar has jumped to the bottom of this page, the main blog page, and I can’t figure out how to get it back on the side. I’m using the “Mystique” template. Any help for the weary?

  • Have you changed anything in the background with the sizing/spacing of the sidebar or content/body of the theme? If you make changes to the sizing of elements but don’t change the overall size, the sidebar will drop to the bottom of the page.

Example: Overall theme width (wrapper) 1000px. Main body width 800px. Sidebar width 175px. Various margins/padding total 20px. You’ll be OK with 5px to spare. Change any one or more of those so the total is greater than 1000px and there isn’t enough room in the wrapper and the sidebar will drop to the bottom and appear below the main body.

Thanks for your response! No, I didn’t alter the widths (at least to my knowledge. This is the only page that the sidebar has dropped to the bottom.

Wow… so that was really cool…wow… Do you know which .php file needs to be altered?

It could be your theme’s index.php template file that needs amending. but you may also have to check the content in some of your recent posts – especially if you have been using any HTML markup in those posts.

I tried all of the above… I went to the missing links in various templates, but I guess it’s how the code is set up. They may have appeared to be missing, but they were there. It’s just strange that this is the only page that this problem is happening on… I’m just lost…

The single post only has 1 missing </div>, so it’s still either an index.php issue, one or more posts with unwanted markup in theme or a plugin that only outputs content on the main posts page.
