 * My widgets won’t load in the sidebar, and instead are appearing in the footer.
I’ve changed a number of settings and have still been unable to get the widgets
to go where they’re supposed to be. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

 * Most likely your themes use a widget-capable footer instead of a sidebar.

 * I’m using lightword. I’m fairly positive that the widgets are supposed to be
in the sidebar, not the footer.

 * I guess it’s not going into the footer, but rather just the body below all my
posts. I still cant make sense of it.

 * You’ve got a bunch of `</div>` tags out of place and that’s what is throwing
your sidebar to the footer. Are you using `<div>` for paragraph breaks? [[Invalid]Markup Validation of nationaldinonaut.com – W3C Markup Validator](http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A//www.nationaldinonaut.com/&doctype=Inline&ss=1&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator/1.654).
Scroll down in the validation report to see line numbers and source code. Compare
your edits to an unedited copy of your theme, too.

 * Thanks for that, Songdogtech. I just imported all of my posts from an old Movable
Type blog, and it must just be format issues from there. Do you suspect this
is the cause of my problems?

 * Probably. Use the html editor to clean up the code in your posts. Have you edited
the theme itself or did you just import content?

 * Even when viewing a sample page with no misplaced <div> tags it still bumps the
   sidebar beneath the content.

Wouldn’t it appear in the proper place if a misplaced tag in an old post were
   the problem?

 * The only code I’ve edited has been to just adjust the background color. I skimmed
the list of errors and didn’t see any jump out as structural problems.

 * Did you modified style.css? Try to replace it with the default one.

 * Good call, Akis. On the test page it appears that everything is loading where
it needs to be, and is only out of place on the main page where the <div> tags
   are misplaced.
