# Sidebar

    I simply cannot figure out how to add a sidebar to the main event page or
   the specific events for that matter. Can anyone explain how to do this? 🙂

 * Yeah, sidebars can be a little tricky. There are a couple of ways to make it 
   happen though:
    1. **Change the default template.** Head to Events > Settings > Display and change
       the default events and single event template to your existing theme’s default
       page template. That will include the sidebar on your default page.
    2. **Add a sidebar to the templates.** We have a [Themer’s Guide](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/)
       that will help you here, but the idea is to override the calendar templates 
       with your own versions and drop a registered sidebar in of your choice.
