• Starting this morning I realized that when I open my website http://www.theheartsdlite.com all of my sidebar is missing? None of the widgets are appearing as normal, and only if you click on a specific post title header and open that specific post do you see any of the widgets in their normal sidebar formation.

I can’t seem to figure out what the issue is that is causing this glitch as everything seems to be normal in terms of my customized set up. All of my plug ins are up to date as well. Has anyone experienced anything like this and if so, what can I do to resolve the issue ASAP?

    Pleas help.

  • Hello Stella,

Check your theme options (if any) to see if there is an option to include or disable the sidebar from the home page.

Also check the page it self (in the back end) as under the page attributes module on the right hand side, there may be an option to include it there.

Or, in Widgets, there may be a separate widget section just for the home page, depending on how your theme is set up.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Ok, I made a slight bit of headway and realized that my sidebar was not missing, but pushed down all of the way to the bottom of my home page. Still on the right-hand side, just beginning way down towards the bottom of the page vs. at the top as normal.

Instead, on the top right side of my page is an additional link w/ post title to the most recently published post?

I have no idea why that is there or how to remove it?! I feel as though if I can eliminate it, my normal sidebar would just repopulate into the right location.

    Any suggestions?

Ah, yeah. I missed that. Hah!

That’s quite strange. Looking at some of your posts though, some of them are full width and some of them aren’t so that may be the reason why the side bar is being pushed to the bottom. Initially I was going to suggest that it might be a side bar margin and/or width issue.

Interestingly though, if you go to page 2, it shows up fine so it can’t be a margin issue.

Have a look into how you have formatted this post – 7 Cool Ways to Wear a Cape which you posted Nov 7th as the ”full width” formatting only happens after that post. Perhaps try and alter it and remove the indented numbered bullets or something as thats the only difference I can see between that and other posts.

OMG! That’s crazy. I went to that 7 Cool Ways to Wear a Cape post and everything was as it should be… Just in case, I clicked on the default layout option and made sure it was set correctly. Basically, I “unchecked” and clicked it back to active and there you go. Everything is back to normal.

I don’t understand what’s going on, as this just happened today and that post was obviously published on Nov 2nd. It’s so bizarre.

I hope that corrected all of the issues… everything else looks normal at first glance? I appreciate your quick responses. I would still be pulling my hair out.

    THANK YOU.

    No problem.

    = )

Make sure you report this problem to the theme author. It might be a bug in the theme code.

Hey guys — I was hoping you could help me trouble shoot this same issue AGAIN!

I have no idea what is causing my sidebar to get randomly get displaced to the far bottom of my website’s front page. Everything was working correctly since I last posted on this forum and then all of a sudden the issue reappeared!? I don’t understand why it’s only impacting my front page.

    Please help!
