Support » Theme: Hemingway » Side bar not displaying in mobile

  • Hi, Why is my side bar not displaying in my mobile? Also how do I add an email optin to my landing (home) page? There does not seem to be a mail optin element in which I can place my Infusionsoft code from the side bar widget. Please advise. Mike Gosling

  • Hi Mike,

    This has been raised a few times now. But I can’t seem to find the old threads 🙁

    In older versions, there was an override you can put in via Appearance > Editor. See Section 14. Responsive. It used to work for my site but it doesn’t anymore.

    So, I’d also be very interested to hear what everyone thinks!

    @gosling

    This has worked for me. Yay 🙂

    In Section 14. Responsive, set .sidebar{display:none;} to /*.sidebar{display:none;}*/

    It is on line 2183 for me.

    Your sidebar should appear below the main page body in mobile view.

    Hi, I do not know CSS. I tried replacing the code you supplied like this:

    2175 /* Structure ————————————— */

    .content,
    .sidebar {
    width: 100%;
    float: none;
    }

    2183 .sidebar { display: none; }

    .section.large-padding,
    .section.medium-padding { padding: 40px 0; }

    .footer { margin-top: 60px; }

    Code after change is:

    2175 /* Structure ————————————— */

    .content,
    .sidebar {
    width: 100%;
    float: none;
    }

    2183 /*.sidebar{display:none;}*/

    .section.large-padding,
    .section.medium-padding { padding: 40px 0; }

    .footer { margin-top: 60px; }

    This did not work and the right-hand column does not display.

    Thank you anyway for your help. I shall probably switch to a new theme.

    Sorry, Mike 🙁

    Changing Line 2183 to /*.sidebar{display:none;}*/ worked for me.

    All it’s doing is commenting that line out.

    Maybe Anders will respond soon.
