Support » Themes and Templates » Side bar difference. IE vs Mozilla

  • I integrated wordpress into a sloppy Macromedia build:

    I’ll work on the xhtml compliance issues later, but for now the mystery i’m trying to solve is the difference between how IE and Mozilla display the side bar.

    I’m under the impression it has to do with the content layer being closed just before the sidebar is called, but at the same time, if i don’t close it there, both display the sidebar below the posts rather then on the right side.

    Any one have any advice? I’m like 4 hours in.

    Your wrapper isn’t wide enough to contain your sidebar and the floating content. Yes, IE has bounding box issues.

    Screw around with the width of #sidebar, #content, and #wrapper until it looks right again.

    I’ve tried changing those quite a bit and it doesn’t seem to let it move up. It just makes empty space. Here is my style sheet.

    #wrapper {
    margin: 0 auto;
    width: 100%;
    background-color: #000033;
    text-align: left;
    #content {
    float: right;
    margin: 0 0 0 0;
    width: 500px;

    #sidebar {
    float: left;
    vertical-align: top;
    margin: 0 0 0 0;
    padding: 0 0 0 0;
    width: 100px;
    font-size: 0.9em;

    I’m not sure it’s CSS because i’ve changed everything possible in there.

    It appears to be working correctly in IE now. What did you do to fix it?
